10 things you need to know to succeed in this class!

1. Read! Make sure you are always reading at home so you can get your books turned in on time!

2. Keep your grades up! If your grade is lower than a B for most of the trimester then you will get kicked out of the class because the requirement for honors is to have good grades.

3. Don't procrastinate! Always make sure you get your work turned in on time!

4. Put your phone on silent! if you don't and someone calls you Mrs. Robins will answer it.

5. Be creative! You will have a lot of opportunities to put creativity in your projects.

6. Be social! You will be working in groups a lot during the year so get to know everybody in your class.

7. Be positive! If you aren't positive then language arts won't be as fun and Mrs. Robins has such fun things for you to do!

8. Don't over think things! If you do over think things then it will get very stressful when it shouldn't be. If it does turn out to a little difficult for you then just ask Mrs. Robins for help because she will totally help you!

9. Do extra credit! If you are falling behind in the class and your grade isn't where you want it to be then do extra credit! Mrs. Robins is very understanding and will help you with whatever she can.

10. HAVE FUN! This is the best class ever! Mrs. Robins is an amazing teacher and makes everything SUPER FUN!!

This year has been a phenomenal year in LA! Mrs. Robins the the best teacher ever!!! You guys are so lucky you guys get her. The top 10 things you should know from being in this class is...

1. Don't procrastinate!!! Procrastinating is something that I struggle but I learned the hard way, by getting behind on my work my grade dropped and then I had a ton of work to do to get it back to an A. So DON'T procrastinate !

2.Read! Make sure you get all your books done on time if you don't it usually brings your grade down quite a bit, so make sure you read and get them done by the deadline.

3.Don't over think things! If you over think things you will get stressed out about it and not realize how easy it actually is. Especially in this class, something might look hard but then its actually SUPER easy.

4. Keep your grade higher than a B! If you don't have your grade at least a B through the trimester than you could get kicked out of honors, which you don't want to do because honors is a party. So make sure your grade is higher than a B!

5.Now, writing contests and blog post. Don't forget to do this every month, they might seem hard and boring but there actually really fun and extremely easy to do.

6. Keep your phone on silent!!! If you don't with out a doubt Mrs. Robins will ether answer the call or read the text message out loud to the whole class.

7.Always pay attention to Mrs. Robins when she is teaching, so that you can learn what she needs you to learn and so when the test comes you will be prepared!

8.Be social able!  If you don't it will be harder to have fun in this class if you don't get to know the people in the class.

9. Do extra credit! If you ever fall behind do extra credit that Mrs. Robins will have for you so that you can keep your grade up!

10. HAVE FUN!!! Just enjoy the year and have so much fun with everyone and do not stress!

For the BRAND NEW honors 7th graders!!!

                                             
  I have absolutely LOVED Mrs. Robins honors language arts class this year! It was most definitely one of my favorite classes! I have always thought I wasn't a good writer, but this year has boosted my confidence so much! Mrs. Robins is a miracle worker! You guys are so lucky to have her! But in order for her to love you back there is a few rules you should follow. ( just kidding she will love you no matter what, but still just be good ;) Here are five things that you should follow this year.

• Do not procrastinate! Everyone says this, but it is a huge deal. Everything will be a lot easier if you just get it done. You´ll be less stressed, your work is higher quality and it practices good habits.
• Be on top of everything. Listen to everything she says, if you don´t, you may miss something she says. If you are not on top of all of your work, this class will not be your favorite. You will soon feel swamped with homework and stressed out.
• Pick up good habits. I've been told that school only get harder from here. In order to be prepared for our high school years, Mrs. Robins has given you assignments. For example 1 writing contest and blog post every month. This is a great way to practice writing lots in a short amount of time, instead of taking a day per paragraph, you learn how to write something pretty decent in just one sitting. This is just on example of ways to pick up good habits! (procrastinating is not a good habit!)
• Make writing and reading and writing your best friend. If you don't like to read or write you better work on that. You don't have to love it but you need to be comfortable with it. (As you already know, it's something you'll use your whole life!)
• Just have FUN! While all the things above matter, having fun is still important! 7th grade can actually be really, really fun!

  Follow those rules above and you will have a great year! ;) Now here are 5 things that I loved about this class and what you should look forward to!

• My FAVORITE thing about this year is the TEACHER!!! She is seriously the best language arts teacher in the 7th grade!
• I really learned some new things this year! You know how sometimes you have a class that you feel like you're just reviewing everything, that you already know everything their teaching? Well this class is not like that! Be prepared to learn!
• How much I learned and improved in writing! Like I mentioned before, I had a great deal of improvement this year! 
• Learning activities! If Mrs. Robins believed the activity would help she would go great lengths to get us to do it. I remember my class going outside to do relay races while all the others classes stayed inside doing something not as fun! When we prepared for sage we didn't just do worksheets like the other classes, we would get up and do things instead of 50 worksheets!
• Last but not least, The fun things and little parties we did all the time! She has so many little parties throughout the year! They are all so much fun!!!

  As you can see, you have a great fun packed year ahead of you! ENJOY IT!!!! Good luck!;)

 The Top 10 Things You Must Do To Succeed  in Honors Language

1. DON’T PROCRASTINATE!! Yes, you will hear this a lot. That’s because
you should not do it. Getting in the habit of waiting until last minute to do
everything is not good! It makes school so much more stressful and that’s not
how it should be. School should be a place to come and learn with your friends.

2. Just get the work done! Mrs. Robins is a super great teacher and makes sure you
never have too much homework. In fact, she hardly ever gives homework, so when she
does assign homework, just get it done!

3. Read! If you don’t read in this class, it can be very difficult. Reading should already
be something that you love to do, so why not get a good grade for doing it?

4. Pay attention! You are the advanced kids, so things go a little faster in this class.
If you don’t pay attention you will constantly have to ask for help and it will be really
hard for you.

5. Listen to Mrs. Robins! She has some great advice for everyone and is a fantastic teacher,
so take her advice! Let me tell you, if you do, you will improve so much this year!

6. Work together with your classmates! If you can work with your classmates, it will make
this class ten times easier. We are always doing things with our groups, so if you can’t get
along with everyone, it won’t be as easy.

7. Take the advice of others! If you listen to others about how to improve, it can help
you a lot! After all, they are only trying to help you get better.

8. Relax. Take the time to relax every now and then. This class is supposed to challenge
you, so if you don’t relax it will be overwhelming.

9. Come prepared. Always come prepared, because if you don’t, it might cost you.

10. Have fun! Mrs. Robins is one of the best teachers you’ll ever have in your entire
life. You only get 9 months with her, so enjoy the time you have with her while it lasts.

 8. If you need to, ask Mrs. Robins for help! She is the best! I promise if you ask for                                      help she will not bite.

3. Keep up on your reading so that you aren't speed reading the day a book is due.

4. Don't talk while Mrs. Robins is talking. No matter how quietly you are talking she knows that you are!

5. Do your writing contests because they are fun and you can win stuff.

6. Always be positive and be willing to help people.   

7. Get contests and blog posts done BEFORE they are due so that you are not doing them last minute.                                                                                            

8. Always listen to Mrs. Robins so that you can do everything right.                    

9. Keep your grade up. 

10. Always have fun because this is a really fun class.

10 Things To Know About This Class

This class is not hard and Mrs. Robins is an awesome teacher. She makes this class enjoyable, so have fun but don't be lazy so you can actually enjoy it. Here are ten tips to help you.

1. Get your work in on time! There are usually about two things per month you have to do as homework in this class: blog post, and writing contest, so don't be a slacker and just get it done.

2. READ! If you're in this class, you probably like reading so it shouldn't be that big of a problem to read. Just in case you don't read a lot though, if you don't read you can't get into the iRead 40 club which will include a party at the end of the year that will be a blast. You'll be sorry you missed it if you don't get your reading done.

3. Don't procrastinate: procrastination will be a huge problem for you if you do it because then you'll get behind in blog posts, writing contests, reading, and the extra assignments you'll have to do. This will NOT keep you in this class, you could get bumped down in your grades low enough that you could be taken out. Not fun.

4. Go to school! Just think, if you're not in school to learn what Mrs. Robins is teaching, you'll fall behind. With every other class you're missing you'll be swamped with all the work so you wouldn't be able to get a lot done. Also when you are at school, turn your cell phone off! Especially in this class because Mrs. Robins WILL answer it for you. Good luck..😉

5. Have fun! This class is full of fun activities and things to do that you shouldn't be bored and you shouldn't worry too much. Just relax and do what you need to and you'll be fine.

6. Communicate. You need to be able to communicate with other people to do well in this class. If you think you've done something and it's not on your grades you need to tell Mrs. Robins so she can fix it.

7. Be creative! You have a lot of chances to use your creativity in this class so you should use it when you get the chance.

8. Do extra credit! When you don't have the grade you need or want there are extra credit assignments that you can do. You should take them and get the points you need.

9. Participate in class! If you don't participate and do the activities, Mrs. Robins won't know if you actually understand what she is teaching and it won't help you or her.

10. Ask questions! When you have a question or don't understand something, you can just ask one of your classmates or someone at your table. If you still don't understand you can ask Mrs. Robins and she will help you.
