Leaving Feedback (Read Before Posting)

Commenting is leaving feedback for another student's work. Try to comment on different student's work each month and read the following:

      How to Comment: Be logged into your student gmail account. Hit the "Comments" (or it might say "no comments" if you are the first) link at the bottom of the post.  Now, write your comment and hit "publish". It should now appear.
     
    

Your Comment needs 3 items:

1. Say what they did well in their writing
2. Say WHY it was so good
3. Give them 1 thing to do to improve their writing. The best way is to approach it as a question: what would it look like if? How about trying this? 

Example of a good comment:  Hey Katie, really great poem!  I liked the way it painted a picture in my head because of the good words you used. As an author, you really mastered alliteration.  The repetition of the "s" sound was cool--it sounded like wind when I read it.   For an improvement, what about adding another stanza at the end to describe the setting more? Keep up the good work!  --Mrs. Robins

Examples of cruddy comments:  

I didn't like your poem, it was stupid and I didn't understand.  This is rude and there is no room for that!

I liked your poem.  You are a good writer. Your shirt is cute.  While this post is nice, it doesn't address the three things you need and it's way too short.
