Hi there, my name is Addie Platt, and I just finished reading some of last years blog posts, and I found three pieces of advice that are really helpful!  The first one is, Don't Procrastinate!!!  I know pretty much everyone said that as their number one piece of advice, but I think that it is very important, and Mrs. Robins talks about it a lot!  I literally am the worst when it comes to doing my homework right when my mom tells me to, I always wait until the last second to get my assignments done.  By the way I am writing my post one day late (now you know how bad I am at not procrastinating).  The second piece of advice I picked up was, Pay Attention!!  I am usually really good at this.  If you don't pay attention you won't know what to do when Mrs. Robins comes around and says, "you need to be working on blank"!  I have found myself in that situation many times .   And the last piece of advice I found was, Relax!!  Relaxing can sometimes be hard, when you think you have so much to do in LA.  But usually your probably just stressing out to much because, like Mrs. Robins said, she doesn't give out any homework other than the blog and reading.  I can tell that Honors LA is going to be so fun!  Mrs. Robins is probably already my favorite teacher!

I love writing and reading!!  But writing wasn't always my favorite, I used to hate writing because I couldn't type fast enough, and I would never get my essays done in time!  I have gotten better at it and now am in honors language arts!  I love writing about my life and fantasy.  I really don't like writing argumentative and informational essays, because they are always so boring.  I actually like reading a lot more than writing,  my favorite genre of book is fantasy.  There are too many great books to read.  I am so glad to be in honors L.A.!!  I know It will be a great year!!

Hi I'm Braxton Dunbar.  As I was reading through last years blog I picked out my top 3 pieces of advice. The first one being Don't Procrastinate!!! The reason why i chose this is it is one of the most said by last years class and it's some thing I have experience in  and it always comes back to you. This will help me to become a better student by just getting things done. The second one being, keep up in your reading, just based on last years students it is difficult to cram a bunch of books in at the end of the year. Also this kind of goes along with not procrastinating. This also would help me become a better student by keeping a steady amount of reading going. Third is, paying attention in class and not talking or doing other stuff you will probably get called out on it. This will help me to not get distracted and keep me from embarrassing myself.

I enjoy writing about fantasy and magic creatures of all different shapes and sizes, and I LOVE to write funny poems. I started to enjoy writing in 5th grade before then I just did it because I had to. But recently that has changed I write because its fun and sometimes funny. My 5th grade teacher was the best we would work on different kinds of writing and even started our class on poetry Moving on,  some of the things i would like to accomplish in this class are pass it with an A and have lots of fun on the way.

Hi! This is Anna B. I just finished reading some really great posts from last years honors class. The first piece of advice is DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!! I am really bad about this and I am trying to do better this year. The second one is PAY ATTENTION!! I tend to zone out during class, but I don´t think that will be a problem because Mrs. Robins is super exciting and interesting. And thirdly, just relax! Last year, I procrastinated a lot and I got really stressed out.

I love reading, and don´t usually pay attention to anything else while I´m reading. I´m hoping to improve my writing stamina (writing for a longer amount of time without stopping) and learn more vocabulary words. I love writing, especially detailed writing, using the senses to help a person imagine a scene for about 2 minutes.
Hi my name is Camille Van Gils! As I finished reading last years blog post and about the pieces of advice that stood out to me I found these, DO NOT procrastinate, read a lot, and have fun! The first piece of advice is to not procrastinate. In previous years I procrastinated A LOT. I would always wait until the last second to complete my work and that was always so stressful. I found when I procrastinated my work wasn't the best it could have been. I hope that this year I can work harder at turning my assignments in earlier. Second is to read a lot! I love reading and even over the summer I read a lot. But I'm not good at choosing different types of genres so I hope this year I can branch out. I am really hoping to get into the I read 40 club this year. I think it would be great way to push myself to read more. Lastly, is to just have fun in this class! I am so excited for this class because after reading all the other blog posts, people have been saying that LA honors isn't difficult thanks to the awesome teacher, Mrs. Robins and I totally believe that! I think if I follow these pieces of advice I will have a lot of fun in this class and I will get a good grade!

I love to write. My favorite type of writing is creative writing. I love being able to use my imagination. I have a journal and I love to write my ideas, feelings, and stories. When I was in 3rd grade my parents started to notice that I really like to write. I don't like to write informational and argumentative essays as much but I hope this year I can learn to like other types of writing. I think it would be a lot of fun to write a book someday. Some of the topics I like are: Fantasy and realistic fiction. My goals for this year are to become a better reader and writer. I also really want to be apart of the I read 40 club. From seeing pictures and hearing about this club, it sounds like it would be a lot of fun! I am so excited for this year in LA!

Hi this is Ellie B and I just finished reading some of the advise from the previous honors students and three things really stood out to me.  First, Do not Procrastinate.  They kept on mentioning that and it stood out to me because I am a procrastinator and it motivated me to get my work done.  Another thing that I noticed a lot was pay attention, sometimes I doze off in class and It defiantly helps when you pay attention so obviously this is a rule that caught my attention.  The last thing that I read a lot was read a lot!  I haven't really been a big reader until this past year when I realized how much it helps with vocabulary, school, and so much more!  As one can see, this advise is defiantly things to consider while in school.
Ever since I was little I've been a big writer.  I enjoy writing mysteries and adventures, mostly because I can't stand romances and fantasy books seem really slow to me, I can't imagine writing about that stuff.  Where as adventures always have you on your toes because it is just event after event and mysteries are defiantly page turners, plus it is even more fun to write the story because you know what is going to happen and you can stump other readers by what you write. Another reason why I like writing is because you can get lost in it just like I get lost in a good book and it is very entertaining and educational. One thing I would like to accomplish this year is to read a lot of books which I know will be easy because of the iRead program. Obviously writing and reading is ver fun and can benefit you in many ways.
Hi I'm Averi Cobb, after reading the advice, and cracking up over a few, I found my top three. One- DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!! This is so important to me because I have a very big problem, I say it will all be OK and I just leave it be till I get reminded that its due the next day. I know this one has to be important  because it´s on all of the posts. So this will be my number one focus this year. The second piece of advice was do extra credit. I do understand that sometimes our grade can unexpectedly fall and we don't know why but then we realize that we were supposed to have the project in a week ago. (sadly i know from experience) But extra credit is always a big help for me if I can get me hands on it, I don't think I have turned down extra credit EVER. the third is to READ- read a lot! I love to read and can stay in one position for three hours when I'm stuck in a good book.  Books are great but if you are in a book that is too slow or boring for you it´s torture! so that's why I read the beehive books, they are always great.
Writing is amazing! my absolute favorite is argumentative, I love proving my point. It  makes me so happy when i can change other people´s mind with just a few paragraphs of writing. I think is is so cool and crazy how different types of writing do such different jobs and what emotions they give you. For me reading and writing made up stories is almost just as fun as argumentative. One thing I want to work on improving  this year is my writing, making it sound smooth. I know that this year in honors LA will be challenging but rewarding.

Hi My name is Phoenix Oliver. I just finished reading the tips for surviving seventh grade honors. There were three tips that stood out to me. First, never, ever, ever, ever, ever....ever Procrastinate. In all honesty I am very bad at getting things done early, and barely by the skin of my nose. I hope this tip will help me get better at not procrastinating, because I really like my nose. The second piece of advice that stood out to me was to read. Well I mean it is probably a good idea to read in a Language Arts class it's probably one of the two most important things to do in this class. The third I thought was a really good tip as well was to pay attention. How in the world are you supposed to get your work done if you have not the slightest idea of what you are supposed to do, how your supposed to do it, and when it's due. You might as well go to the Moon without a rocket and fuel.

I really like to write Fantasy, I mean it is so fun to let your imagination run wild. There is no limit to where your imagination can take you when you write. I especially like to draw comics or to illustrate along with the stories with characters, such as, Dragons, Super heroes, or maybe even a penguin that can wait for it .... FLY!!! There is no limit to where writing can take you when writing Fantasy and that is why I love it so much. I hope in this class I can become I better writer than I was before I walked into seventh grade, and with this class I really think that will happen!
Hello! I am Anna Steel! As I was reading the last years blog post a few pieces of advice that stood out to me where one don't procrastinate because if you procrastinate you will be behind in all your work and you'll get a bad grade and if your  grade is to low then you might get kicked out of this amazing, awesome, fun class. So just don't procrastinate! Another great piece of advice was read. If you don't like reading then way would you be in this class . I hope we will all be in the i read 40 club so we can all go to that party together and also have that fun, just class party! The 3rd piece of advice was pay attention. I mean if you don't pay attention then you wont know what we are talking about in that class period. How I think these will make me a better student is if I follow what the advice then i will be able to have good grades and never or mostly never get in trouble.

I LOVE to write it is one of my favorite things to do. I love to get creative with my writings and just have fun with it. I love to write pretty much anything. How I started writing was when I first started to read as soon as I learned to read I wanted to try and write something, and I loved it. Although I was little i have still loved to write ever since.  Some of my goals this year is to become a faster reader. I love to read but for some reason I can't read fast. I also want to become a better writer. I also hope to get to know this class better. One of my main goals is to get to the I read 40 party. I am looking forward to a great year!
I just finished reading 10 great pieces of advice, and I discovered that I really needed this advice. However, there were three that really stuck out to me.The first one was, do not procrastinate. If you look at the date that this was posted you will probably figure out why I thought that this was a great piece of advice. Another thing that stuck out to me was relax. I am constantly worrying about my grade even when I know that it's an a, and pretty sure everybody else stresses a little too much also. Last but not least, PAY ATTENTION I thought that that was important for many reasons. For example, just last week fell asleep in class and I didn't know what to do when I woke up. I'm just kidding, but paying attention is still important.

I love writing when I can write about Fantasy because then I can come up with cool stories that are fun to imagine in my head. I love how I can just basically write whatever is on my mind. I started writing because I had too. I never really started liking too write until I was in 6th grade. Some things that I hope to accomplish this year is how to write different types of essays. That is what I want to accomplish this year.

Hello!! This is Ellee Bolander. I have been reading last years honors blog. They had some really great information. Some things that came up a lot, were don't procrastinate, read a lot, and pay attention. These where the ones that stood out to me. Number 1: Don't procrastinate is one thing I did a lot in elementary  school. I've gotten better about it in sixth grade and will in seventh. Number 2: Read a lot. I am not a real fan of reading. But I love world war two books. Those are my favorite. Number 3: Pay Attention. This is what I am good at . (Kind of) I always listen because ever since my Pre- school teacher got mad at me for talking and put me in time out I have been scared to talk in class.

My favorite thing to write about is fantasy. This is the kind of writing that lets me use imagination. My unfavorite is informational. This one does not let you use your imagination. I hope by the end of the year I will like some other writing too. One thing I am really exited about this year is that I have the best teacher on the planet and I get to be with my friends in this class. I am really looking forward to having  a great year! :)
Hi guys! I'm Jocelyn Olson. I just finished reading the advice from last years honors language arts students. The three main things that I saw were, 1. DON'T PROCRASTINATE. This is a big habit of mine. I always find myself waiting until the last minute to do things. Just like how I am writing on the blog two days before it is due! 2. Pay attention. This is big too, because if you don't pay attention, you won't know what to do. 3. Read. Obviously we should read, because we are in honors language arts and we are required to read to keep our grade up. I think that as I do these things this year they will help me be stress free, and enjoy reading and writing.

I like only enjoy writing certain things, like fantasy, but I don't really like writing informative or argumentative. I like writing things that include magic and things that take you away from the real world. It helps me use my imagination. I hope that by the end of the year I will be able to enjoy writing other things than fantasy.

Hi! I'm Kamree. I just recently finished reading the tips from last year's students. This is one that stuck out to me. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!!!!! I am going to have to be completely honest. I am a procrastinator. My goal this year is to try to get things turned in earlier and not save everything for last minute. Another thing I saw that was important was, READ!!!!! I love to read, but I am a slow reader. So when books are due I have to try to catch up. I wan't to become a better reader this year. The last one that stuck out to me most was, PAY ATTENTION!!!!! I am a talker. When teachers are talking I usually find myself talking. I think  paying attention is really important because if your not,you might miss out on something really important.

I love writing. When there are essays in school I think they are fun. You get all your thoughts out about the subject. I don't write at home in a journal, although it would be fun and I probably should. I usually only write at school, but when I was in third grade I wrote a book. I can't remember what it was called, but I remember trying really hard to make it as good as an author's book. My goal this year is to get better at reading and writing. I am going to work really hard to get things done on time and with my very best work.

Hello! The most common and probably most important blog post that I read is DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! I'm not the best person to talk to about not procrastinating, because I sometimes have to cram my work and do it last minute. Even though I still get an A every time, it's very stressful and not the best thing to do, especially in an Honors class. The next best blog post I read is probably to relax. Doing crappy work when your stressed or not relaxed is not smart because the work turns out bad, and you get stressed. When you just relax, focus, and do your work ahead of time so you're not stressed about it, then you get quality work that gets an A. The third most important piece of advise is probably to read, read, read. the iRead 40 club sounds really fun,and I want to be in it. I also really want an A in this class, so it's really important to read. I also love reading, so I don't think that it will be very hard to read the 14 books a trimester, and I also read 60 books last year, so it won't be very hard to read a lot, but it's very important. Those are some of the most important tips for this class.

Hi! My name is Janessa Wilding. and I love to write. I like free writing the best, because you get to express yourself, and it's very creative. I specifically like writing fantasy, and fantasy is also my favorite book genre. I probably like writing fantasy the best because when your writing fantasy, there's no rules (Except for the regular writing rules), and its nice to just be able to write whatever you want. I want to improve my writing skills in this class also. I love to write and want to be able to write better.
This is Bryce Christiansen and I just finished reading many good tips of advice from the last years honors class. There was a lot of good info, and the top one in my opinion was DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! During sixth grade, I kind of tended to procrastinate with my homework a little bit (especially with the science study minutes) and sometimes I had to do extra credit to get my grades back up and running. This year I will try not to procrastinate as much with my homework, (math and science study minutes this year) and hopefully I won't have to do any extra credit. I kind of have already not procrastinated by not waiting until the 29th to do this blog post.
Another very good piece of advice from last year was to pay attention. The author of that bit of advice said it in a funny way that made my laugh, but then I realized it probably is a good idea to pay attention. In a way I have already failed at this, because I had to ask four different people before I knew how to get here. So working on paying attention can start, tomorrow...
The third best piece of advice I found  was to learn. Many of my friends say that they are glad to not be in honors language arts, but I agree with this third piece of info that if you learn, then it will easier than one might think.

         Thanks for reading!

Hi this is Owen Redd and I read all of last years posts and they were awesome. One comment stuck out to me and that was READ. I know this is an honors class so I knew that there was going to be a ton of reading getting done. I have always loved to read so I knew this wasn't going to be a big problem but I usually forget that I have to read. I usually do a ton of reading every once awhile, but this year I'm probably going to read every day. Another thing that stuck out to me was don't procrastinate. I know I have a huge problem with this. For an example I accepted the invitation like two weeks ago and i'm now posting. My mom gets mad at me all the time for doing this. Although this year I am going to try my hardest to keep up on all the latest assignments. Lastly I saw relax. I picked this one because I always get stressed about the simplest things. This year I made into all honors and I know to just relax because I usually get stressed in my honor classes. Also I know as long as I keep up on the assignments i'll be fine.

I usually love to write cool stories and I think its really fun. But the thing I hate about writing is all the essays and Utah Compose stuff. Other than all essays I love to write cool and fun stories. Last year I won a short story contest on any subject and it was published In a book. I thought that was really cool and I hope to win writing contests this year. Last year in honors language arts I didn't really like to write. But by the end of the year and the older I got I enjoyed writing a lot more for some reasons. I think its because the more cool books and stories I read the more I became to appreciate it. Anyway I enjoyed writing my first blog post and I look forward to it next month.

Hi I'm Halle! Some of the most common advice was to not procrastinate! I procrastinated a lot last year. it was terrible. I was always putting off all of my work till either the day it was due or the day before it was due. I was always stressed about it so I'm not going to go through that again. Another piece of advice was to read. I love to read so that hopefully will help this year. The last piece of advice I read was to pay attention. All of those combined will make me a better student and this year a lot better than last.

I'm for sure not the best writer in the class. I don't always love to write. I like to write when its a topic that I like or feel strongly about. But if it's something I don't like I put it off a lot then I don't do it as good as I should. It's bad I know. So this year I'm going to do better. I guess I started writing in preschool. That's all I have for this blog.

Hello! My name is Scarlett D., and I've recently read the blog posts from the honors students last year. The pieces of advice were amazing! There were three things that I saw come up a lot. One of these things was do not procrastinate. This seems like a great piece of advice to follow because school is more stressful when you procrastinate. Another piece of advice was to read. This seems like a good idea, saying that this IS a language arts class, after all! The final piece of advice I will be talking about is to pay attention in class. This is a good piece of advice that I will follow because  you can't learn anything if you don't pay attention. I will be sure to follow all of these pieces of advice, because they will all help me become a better student.
I love to write stories in my spare time. I come up with characters and have just fallen in love with them. They have existed for almost 2 years now. I love writing fantasy stories, and I feel like I never run out of ideas. (Even if some of them are really weird!) I hope to become a better writer this year. I also hope to finish at least on of the stories I am writing, saying that right now I am writing about 4. I started writing my own stories in 3rd grade. At first, I would just write random essays. I would write about pretty much anything. Sometimes I would write how-to guides. Then, in 4th grade, I started actually writing stories and sharing them with my friends. I have continued writing stories since then. I love writing and drawing, even though I'm not a very good artist! I like to free write and write haiku. Haiku is the only type of poetry I like writing. I am very excited for this year in language arts with Mrs. Robins!
Hello! This is Braden Loveland and I just got done reading last years honors blog advice. The main thing I saw was do not procrastinate! this showed up in almost every post. I like to procrastinate very much especially on days when I have practice. Every time I do I always tell myself I won't do it again, but that never happens. The second piece of advice I saw was that you should always read to stay on top of your tracker and bingo card. I usually am very on top of my reading as long as I get a good book the first time I choose one. This year I am going to try to read more than I ever have. The final thing I saw is that you should relax and have fun. This is very good advice because with all the homework you are receiving you can get super wrapped up in your work and grades. These are the main pieces of advice I saw.
Writing has never been something that I loved to do, but I don't hate it. My favorite type of writing is when their is a prompt that actually interests me and I get to argue my opinion. I probably like this so much because I am very stubborn and once somethings in my head it takes a lot to get it out. I am not creative at all so anything that has to do with coming up with my own story usually does not turn out very well. This is the type of writing I like to do even though I don't love it.
As I was reading the blog posts from last year, I found many great pieces of advice. The first piece of advice that really stood out to me was don't procrastinate! I am a really bad procrastinator and one of my goals this year is to be proactive and get things done! Last year my procrastination really got to me and made me really stressed and tired. I would like to be able to use my time wisely this year and get things done before necessary. I think that a good student knows how to manage their time and put first things first. This skill is one I would like to develop this year. The second piece of advice was read! I love love love to read but I don't do it as often as I should. I also like certain types of genres that I read all the time, but I don't ready other genres as often. This year, I would like to explore more genres and try new types of books! And going back to the first piece of advice, I  have certain times when I can read, so that I don't procrastinate my reading until my last book is due and I have to cram it in all in one night! So, this year I hope to become a stronger reader and have more of a variety of books on my reading list. The third piece of advice that I took to heart was pay attention. Sometimes in class I don't pay attention and then when I try to find where I need to go to do something in class or turn something in online, I don't know where to go. This year I have set a goal for myself to take notes and know where I need to go to get anywhere. With all of the new teacher websites and apps, I get confused where to go and end up going to the wrong place. I have decided to write down where everything is so that I don't have a hard time getting there. As you can see, this year I have a lot of goals that I would like to accomplish!

My name is Abbey Mathews. I love writing! I really do. My favorite type of writing is creative writing. I love writing whatever comes to my mind! I have lots of crazy ideas and dreams and I love writing them down so that later on I can remember them. I also write in a journal and I think that helps me become a better writer as well. In my journal I write anything. My feelings, stories, thoughts, I doodle and write quotes, and I make lists! It really helps me express myself and write down ideas. I really started to love writing in second grade. My teacher, Mrs. Goodman, really pushed me to become a better writing. She saw that I had potential and encouraged me and helped me get to where I am today in writing. I would really like to write with fluency and make sense of what I'm trying to write easier. Sometimes my writing is choppy and my creative flow is blocked. During these days, I would like to be able to get past that and regain my flow. This year I hope to become a stronger and more fluent writer and be able to express myself more creatively! Sorry this was a really long post, I guess I have more to say than I thought! :)

Procrastination an

Hi my name is Courtney Derrick. I have read all of the letters from last years honors class and the biggest thing that I saw was, DON'T PROCRASTINATE! This means don't wait until the last second to turn in an assignment. I procrastinated on this assignment and it hasn't helped me at all! I'm just now more stressed to get it done. Procrastination never helped anybody, and to see that all of those posts last year gives this single piece of advice in pretty much every post, it is very important not to.
I've loved writing in my previous years. Writing is my passion and joy. When I was in 4th grade I would always compete to see who could get the highest score on Utah Compose. That same year I pushed myself so hard that I got a 30! When I was in First Grade I would write stories with single pieces of paper. I love how different types of people create different types of stories and that a single word can be made into a magical book. I get a lot of writing ideas from reading, and the games I would play when I was little, and trust me I have played plenty of games. These games would always be about something magical, such as a mermaid trying to fit in on land, a fairy on a quest, anything I wanted to play! Writing can take imagination to the next level, and that's what I love about it! Thank you for reading my blog post! If you have any suggestions than let me know. -Court
Hello! This is Brandon Gough and the main peace of advise from last years honors class was DON'T PROCRASTINATE. They say don't wait until the last hour to write your blog, it sucks stressing out at 11:30 PM. My mom hates it when at last second in the morning I say, "Wait! I have homework!" she gives this big huge lesson about how procrastinating can get you kicked out of college, and that doing it when I'm actually supposed to is a lot easier. One of the other tips last year gave us were read a lot! The more you read the bigger your vocabulary increases and the more Mrs. Robins likes you! You have to read 12 books a trimester any way so just read!
In honors language arts, you have to write LOADS, and lots of different type of styles. The style I like the most is free write. If you give me a paper and tell me to write a story, you wont see me again until the next day! I love writing my own stories and reading other peoples, when I really want to impress someone by a story I make sure that they will be impressed. See you next time, Brandon out.
Hello! I'm Gabriella Dutson, and for the first advice I'm doing for my post is relax.
Relaxing never killed anybody, and you should never stress about anything when taking this class. Personally, I stress very easily. As a minor perfectionist, I fear that the smallest slip-up or having one wrong answer will screw over my entire grade, but this time I'm going to work hard, relax, and believe in myself.
Second is read. You have to read a book and turn in your tracker submission (roughly) every ten days, so don't wait a few and try to down a small book that won't improve your skills just to get it over with. Reading is about losing yourself is the stories and learning new things, not about getting an A is your class. However, that is a bonus ;).
Third, and last of all, DON'T PROCRASTINATE!! It will show, and your grade and the quality of your work will drastically drop. If you put your time and effort into your assignment ahead of time, procrastination will be a measure you'll never have to take.

Hiya! My name is Gabriella Dutson and I'm an amateur artist. I'm twelve years old, thirteen on March 21st. I love to draw, art is my passion. I also enjoy writing, visual editing, and reading! I'm mainly a very energetic introvert, and negative things don't really bring me down. I do admit, I do tease a bit. I can be a little ruthless, haha. I guess there's nothing really important to talk about anymore, I'm waiting for the exciting life to catch up.

Thank you for reading, have a great day! <3

Hi! Recently I read the advice the last years honors students gave to help this years honors class survive. The number one piece of advice given was: DON'T PROCRASTINATE! This one could help a lot in this class because most people (including myself ) tend to wait until the last minute then turn in very sloppy work that only gets partial credit. The second piece of advice that stood out to me was: turn in your work on time. This one goes along with don't procrastinate because if your work gets in on time you will have the joys of having less homework. The last piece of advice that stood out to me was: do extra credit. Many people mentioned this and said it would help your grade tremendously. I feel like all this advice will help everyone survive honors Language Arts this year.

Hi everybody! my name is Courtney Pack. I never really thought of myself as a writer but I guess I am. I've always lover writing stories but "writer" was never a word I would use to describe myself My older brother was in Mrs. Robins honors class a few years ago and I've always wanted to follow in his footsteps, so here I am! This year I would really like to become a better writer. I can't judge myself on how good I am but everyone has room to improve. I just like writing stories and don't have any specific tings I like to write about. I am really exited to be in Honors Language Arts this year and know it will be a great year!
Hi, this is Will Warner, I just finished last years Honors blog and one main piece of advice is not to procrastinate. Personally, I do this a lot I just make excuses not to. Last year I kept my grades up surprisingly, but I did all my homework the day it was due and it was really stressful.  This year I will definitely work on this since I will have lots of homework. Another set of advice is to read a lot. I like to read as long as I am reading a good book. If I get into a really good book I can read forever. Since I am in honors I have to read a lot, and I think I will come to like it more.  The last piece of advice I got was to just relax. This is hard for me because I'm always worried about my grades and so caught in work. I can never relax without worrying about something. This is also something I can work.
I have never loved writing. I don't really have a favorite type of writing, but I like to free write. If my teacher assigns free write I'd be most happy. Last year we did a lot of that and that made language arts fun for me. Following a prompt is still fun as long as it is a good prompt.  I started writing in preschool like most kids and really liked it. I guess as I've gotten older I have started liking it less. Writing has kinda come naturally to me I've never really had to study super hard for it. I don't consider myself a good writer, but I'm not bad at it. That's all I have until next time on this blog.

Hello Everyone! I just finished reading a few very helpful pieces of advice from last year's 7th graders. 3 of the best (and vitally important) things that I saw were 1- DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! I saw that piece of advice in every post. I think that is very good advice. I don't usually procrastinate, but I will make sure that I won't procrastinate this year. I advise you to do the same. 2-READ!!! I saw this a lot. I think it is a very good idea. I personally LOVE reading, so it won't be too hard to read a lot, but I'll try to read more than usual.  3- Make friends. I thought this was very good advice. I didn't see this in as many, but I thought it was very important. I know maybe half of the class already, but I'll try to strengthen my old friendships and find some new friends this year. I think these pieces of advice will help me be a better student this year because it'll help me enjoy the school year and get good grades.

I've always loved making up stories. I would tell stories to my mom and sometimes at night when she would tuck me in, she would tell me to tell her a story because she was too tired. I didn't write those stories down, but when I was pretty young, I wrote a book for my older sister. She loved animals so with the help of my mom, I made her an ABC book with I think it might've been 5 facts about an animal and it was handwritten by me. (barely legible.:) I included one animal for land and one from the sea. It took me LONG time to write it. I can't remember if I gave it to her for her birthday or for Christmas. She still has it. I also wrote a book for my mom, but it was a book about a movie we loved. It was called The Secret of Moon acre. Technically I copied the story, but I just made it for my mom, Plus, I was still very young. In 5th grade I made my own chapter book called Mother Nature. It is published, but it was only a cool school thing we did then, so it didn't really get for real published and their is only 2 copies. I am currently re drawing some of the pictures so I can make it look better and then I'm going to send it off to see if it can get published.I am also working on some chapter books, a lot actually. I have too many ideas and it takes a while for me to put them down on paper. My longest unfinished one is 149 pages so far. Well, that's my introduction to my writing life. I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm kind of a procrastinator so I decided to try to be one of the first to post. The first of the three pieces of advice I chose is, DON'T PROCRASTINATE. Like I said, I'm a pretty good procrastinator so this advice caught my attention. Everyone had this as one of their biggest things not to do so I am going to try my hardest not to do it. I will definitely get good grades fast if I stop procrastinating. The second piece of advice I took to heart was, Relax. I get stressed really, really easily so when I saw someone write, "don't stress just relax!" I was relieved. I don't do well under stress so taking time to relax and clam down will help me complete my work without stress. The last piece of advise is one I love, this advise was READ! I love to read, it's like my favorite thing to do, but when school starts I get overwhelmed and I have no time to read. If I use the the other two pieces of advice I would have more time to read. Obviously I will benefit from reading more than one way. All of the advice was great but these were the three I liked most. I know I will use all of these pieces of wisdom through out the school year.

Hi! I am Gwyn Lamoreaux, I have never really loved to write. I don't know why, I think I always thought I was bad at it, but considering I am in honors L.A. I must be okay at writing. I don't have a certain genre that I love to write about. I don't really write outside of school and my journal. I don't really love writing and and my spelling and hand writing aren't the best, but I really want to like writing! I hope to learn how to love writing or at least be more comfortable doing it, and be a lot better at by the end of the year. So there you have my goal, I want to become a better reader\writer and I want to improve in my L.A. skills.
