As I was reading the blog posts from last year, I found many great pieces of advice. The first piece of advice that really stood out to me was don't procrastinate! I am a really bad procrastinator and one of my goals this year is to be proactive and get things done! Last year my procrastination really got to me and made me really stressed and tired. I would like to be able to use my time wisely this year and get things done before necessary. I think that a good student knows how to manage their time and put first things first. This skill is one I would like to develop this year. The second piece of advice was read! I love love love to read but I don't do it as often as I should. I also like certain types of genres that I read all the time, but I don't ready other genres as often. This year, I would like to explore more genres and try new types of books! And going back to the first piece of advice, I  have certain times when I can read, so that I don't procrastinate my reading until my last book is due and I have to cram it in all in one night! So, this year I hope to become a stronger reader and have more of a variety of books on my reading list. The third piece of advice that I took to heart was pay attention. Sometimes in class I don't pay attention and then when I try to find where I need to go to do something in class or turn something in online, I don't know where to go. This year I have set a goal for myself to take notes and know where I need to go to get anywhere. With all of the new teacher websites and apps, I get confused where to go and end up going to the wrong place. I have decided to write down where everything is so that I don't have a hard time getting there. As you can see, this year I have a lot of goals that I would like to accomplish!

My name is Abbey Mathews. I love writing! I really do. My favorite type of writing is creative writing. I love writing whatever comes to my mind! I have lots of crazy ideas and dreams and I love writing them down so that later on I can remember them. I also write in a journal and I think that helps me become a better writer as well. In my journal I write anything. My feelings, stories, thoughts, I doodle and write quotes, and I make lists! It really helps me express myself and write down ideas. I really started to love writing in second grade. My teacher, Mrs. Goodman, really pushed me to become a better writing. She saw that I had potential and encouraged me and helped me get to where I am today in writing. I would really like to write with fluency and make sense of what I'm trying to write easier. Sometimes my writing is choppy and my creative flow is blocked. During these days, I would like to be able to get past that and regain my flow. This year I hope to become a stronger and more fluent writer and be able to express myself more creatively! Sorry this was a really long post, I guess I have more to say than I thought! :)

  4. Great job Abbey! You´re an amazing writer. It´s really cool how you can write so much, but maybe try starting less sentences with ¨I¨.

  5. Excellent writing Abbey! I really love that a 2nd grade teacher inspired you, that's when my writing took off as well. Love your introduction to you as a writer and great break down of last year's advice. Well done:) As you revise, remember to add commas between adjectives (love, love, love). Glad to have you in class, you'll be awesome!
