                                                                  Thanksgiving Ham
After you set out the dishes, all of your relatives flood into a large room in your grandparent's house. You've almost died of hunger, the blessing on the food is said, and you all start to stuff yourself. Your taste buds feel like a rainbow is dancing in your mouth. As you shovel that glorious food into your mouth. you can't help but wonder, what is the tastiest thing your tongue has come in contact with this Thanksgiving? For me it has got to be the big cheese of Thanksgiving dinner: the main course. The boss. The ham. The meat, juicy and tender. The taste is like you've eaten bacon with a texture almost like that of a soft gummy bear. According to "Top Ten Classic Thanksgiving Dishes" it stated that ham was ranked #5 on the list. I know your thinking. Wow! 5? That's pretty bad, but when you think about it, out of all the Thanksgiving foods you can think of, ham was one that got on the list and scored really good. I know, I know. It's not a traditional main course for Thanksgiving, but what the heck. Ham for the win!

                                                                                                                                         -Phoenix Oliver

                                             Pumpkin Pie

On thanksgiving you help set out all the full, warm and steaming dishes all full of delicious food. of course the best is saved for last and that's when the pumpkin pie comes in. Pumpkin is the sweetest smelling and creamiest of all the thanksgiving foods you could ever imagine. Thanks giving would never be as exiting as it is without pumpkin pie. When you finally get handed a slice if the thick pie you put whip cream on it and dig in. Pumpkin pie always makes me rethink my favorite holiday. What would thanksgiving be without pumpkin pie?

I think the best food at Thanksgiving is the gravy because you can put it on almost every hot food on the table. It goes good with everything! Stuffing? Sure. Turkey? Definitely. Mashed potatoes? Absolutely.  And don't forgot the roll! In a Sports Illustrated article dated November 21, 2017, gravy was ranked number 4 in the top 10 Thanksgiving foods. According to the Star Tribune article dated November 22, 2017, gravy is the star attraction of the Thanksgiving meal. As it says in the article, "Here’s the truth about the biggest dinner of the year: The turkey can be a little dry, the mashed potatoes a bit lumpy, but it doesn’t matter when the gravy — that flavorful, velvety sauce — smothers the turkey and potatoes in a blanket of deliciousness before it gently pools on the plate, waiting to be soaked up by the nearest roll." In other words, gravy can be the saving grace of any Thanksgiving meal especially for cooks cooking Thanksgiving dinner for their first time.

Forget the turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce for a minute. Imagine cool whip cream in overwhelming creaminess and fresh fruit mixed in with it. Pomegranates, apples, cantaloupe, blueberries, watermelon and fresh pineapple, topped with crushed almonds. This total deliciousness is the only item to make your thanksgiving the best it can possibly be. Add an extra spoonful of whipped cream and it’s perfection at it’s fullest.

Thanks to Giving

I love Thanksgiving.  It is so yummy with all the mashed potatoes and gravy.  I especially love the bread dipped in cranberry sauce.  It is filled with sweetness and you are filled with love as you slowly bring it closer to your mouth.  Once you ate all the bread with cranberry sauce smeared all over that toasty bread, you can't stop having more.  So tempting to just take a single bite, isn't it.

Yams, By Braxton Dunbar.

If you are wondering which Thanksgiving food is the best, look no further than yams! Candied yams are by far the best Thanksgiving food around. They are the best because they are fairly simple to make and are very delicious, if you make them right. In the article, "Delicious Secret About Yams Is No Secret At All, They Are Sweet" it says “of course yams are better, [your friends] will tell you. They are richer, moister, smoother and sweeter."(paragraph 1) than any other Thanksgiving dish. This evidence matters because no one can resist the delicious sweet taste of yams smothered in butter, cinnamon, a touch of cloves and covered in gooey, toasted marshmallows. I hope this delicious dish is on your table this Thanksgiving. Yum! Yum! ;-) Braxton Dunbar

You probably haven't heard of this amazing dish, but I have, and it has changed my life for the better. Every thanksgiving my aunt brings a metal pan with tinfoil covering it and before I know whats in it, the beautiful scent comes in trough the open door and every year, my mouth waters with delight. My taste buds are having a party in my mouth with fireworks and balloons. The wonderful thing I am talking about uses whip cream, light and creamy, strawberry jello with fresh strawberries actually inside of it, and the one part that she won't tell me how to prepare them is the pretzels, crunchy and delicious in your mouth. All these ingredients mixed together in one perfect pan. This is why I think that the Pretzel Jello Salad is the best thanksgiving dish.

What would Thanksgiving be without the pumpkin pie? It would be a sad feast, and even sadder dessert. Pumpkin pie is the BEST food at Thanksgiving, because of how much people like it. According to the Most Popular pies on Thanksgiving: it says that 16% of people like pumpkin pie the most. Why blame them? 16% may seem like a small percent, but there are so many types of pies. The 16% for pumpkin pie defiantly tops the 2% for cheese pie. To conclude, pumpkin pie is the, without a doubt, best food at the Thanksgiving feast.

Chocolate Pie

By: Ellee Bolander

Woot! Woot! Thanksgiving is here, and guess what it's time for Chocolate pie! This is the best pie ever. For all of you that like Pumpkin pie I found this, ¨ Chocolate pie is a safe bet for everyone...I mean, who doesn't love chocolate? This pie is one of the easiest to make and tends to turn out pretty spectacular every time. If this pie were more seasonal tasting, it could probably break into the top three, but it's still very tasty. ¨( In my opinion chocolate pie should be number one.) This is why Chocolate pie is the best for thinks giving.

You're sitting at the dinner table anxiously awaiting the food to come out of the kitchen. You can smell the ham, fresh out of the oven just sitting on the kitchen counter, taunting you to come eat it and the cheesy potatoes, 98% cheese and 2% potatoes, being poured into the serving tray. However, something is missing. As your mom, aunts, and grandma bring out the food, you finally see it. The very last dish to be served, the stuffing! Stuffing is easily the best food to eat at Thanksgiving time. It is the perfect addition to any dish and just gives off fall feels all around! Did you know that the earliest documentary evidence of stuffing was in a Roman Cookbook? It is called,  Apicius De Re Coquinaria. It contains recipes for stuffed chicken, dormouse, hare, and pig. Most stuffing recipes described in the book contain vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts, and spelt (a type of old cereal). Even people from a long time ago knew how to do Thanksgiving right! Today stuffing is not only used to put inside dead animals to eat but it is its own dish for people to eat! I am very thankful for the ancient Romans that recorded their stuffing making! Because of that, stuffing has evolved and is now better than ever!

Mashed Potatoes By: Courtney Derrick

The best thanksgiving food is my Grandma's famous mashed potatoes. They taste like heaven and when the mashed potatoes barely touch your tongue you get an amazing sensation you can't find anywhere else. Words can't describe the smell of the sweet warm potatoes as they are set down on the table. All of the cousins dive for them and they are gone in .0001 seconds. Now you may be thinking, "What makes these potatoes so good?" Your answer is, the spices the creaminess, these are different from any ordinary potatoes. These potatoes are the most creamy thing your tongue will ever touch.

Pumpkin pie
When I say Thanksgiving, what is the first thing you think of? Pumpkin pie, of course! Pumpkin pie is the best food to have during Thanksgiving. It is cold, creamy, and has a perfect dollop of whipped cream on top.  I'm not the only person the believes this. According to a survey conducted by the Huffington Post, 37% of Americans like pumpkin pie the best, with apple pie in second with 26%, Pecan in third with 20%, Chocolate pecan in fourth with 6%, and 9% for other types. This is important because it shows that most Americans prefer pumpkin pie over all other types. Pumpkin pie is the best food for Thanksgiving time because it is traditional. Most families have a place for pumpkin pie on their table. So when somebody asks you what the best food for Thanksgiving is, you can tell them that it is pumpkin pie and that you have evidence to back it up.

You Wanna Piece Of Me?

What is the best Thanksgiving food? Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes are all good, but pie definitely takes the cake (or should I say takes the pie?) Just think about it. After all those good salty foods like turkey or mashed potatoes, what you really want is something sweet. What's sweeter than pie? A hot, buttery, flakey crust with juicy, fruit filling inside, topped with cold vanilla ice cream just melts in your mouth. The cold icev cream balances out the hot pie, and it's so good you want to eat the whole thing. Everyone loves pie. In fact, pie is the top ranked Thanksgiving food, according to The Week. We all know that pie is by far the best Thanksgiving food.

                                            Ham (extreme effects)

Ok, so, you might be asking, "who the heck likes ham more than turkey or mashed potatoes," and to that question, I say me. One of the reason of why I like ham more than mashed potatoes and turkey is that first it's easy to eat, like, really easy like mashed potatoes. Second, is that it's meat... What? That's not a reason? Yes it is! It has a combination of both turkey and mashed potatoes! According to Google, it has 58 calories per 1 oz. It's easy to eat, it's meat, it can be cooked, it can be served on a plate, it can be served in a bowl, etc. Now that is why I like Ham better than turkey and mashed potatoes... Yes, this is a good paragraph... Right?

Thanksgiving is full of lots of awesome foods. However, turkey is obviously the best because everybody likes it. From the article Thanksgiving by the Numbers it said "46million turkeys are consumed on Thanksgiving". To elaborate, since so many people eat turkey on thanksgiving it has to be the best. Who does not love the smell of turkey after it was just pulled out of they oven. Turkey tastes even better if you can dip in gravy. Turkey is the all time classic. Obviously, turkey is the best food at thanksgiving.

Have you ever had a Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes? I haven't, but I know that if I had, it would be a sad meal. My favorite food at Thanksgiving is by far, mashed potatoes and gravy. They just complete the meal. Many people agree because the amazing amount of potatoes we make. According to Linkedin.com, "We produce 15 million pounds of Mashed Potatoes each year, which takes 400,000 gallons of milk and 11.4 million pounds of potatoes." Now that is A LOT of potatoes. That means that potatoes are very popular. Of course, I wouldn't like potatoes as much without the wonderful gravy! I love making swimming pools with cliffs, bridges and diving boards with my potatoes and my gravy. It makes me feel not like a teen, but a little kid again. That's at least one great reason to have potatoes and gravy on your table. Obviously, potatoes are the best and you should not leave them out this Thanksgiving.

                                  Turkey

Turkey is the best Thanksgiving food. You can't have Thanksgiving without Turkey it is the main dish for most families, also it is really yummy. Many sites I looked at Turkey was ranked in the top third. Also, it is super classical if you search up Thanksgiving dinner in google, almost every picture has turkey in it. This also means that it is really popular. However, many sites didn't even mention turkey. The reason for this is simple. Many dishes like stuffing and green bean casserole are only eaten once a year, at Thanksgiving. This makes them more popular. Considering that we eat turkey more since it is what we eat sandwiches with and on Sunday dinner, and it is still one of the most popular food items is pretty impressive. All in all, Turkey is the best Thanksgiving dish.

By: Gabriella Dutson

Cranberry sauce, by far, is the best and yummiest dish served on Thanksgiving. Just think about dipping your spoon in that sticky, sweet sauce and smothering it all over your moist, tender turkey. I even have family members that eat it by the spoonful! Plus, according to "Thatsitfruit.com", it contains approximately 90% water! Scrumptious and hydrating! No one can deny the tart, yet savory-sweet taste of the gooey, pink-red heaven that is cranberry sauce! So grab your cranberries, sugar and water and make everyone at the table drool this Thanksgiving!

Mashed Potatoes

The aromas of Thanksgiving are all delicious when they're wandering around all over your house. Just think of all those pies, the turkey, rolls, stuffing, cranberry sauce! Though the best dish is actually the mashed potatoes. Seriously though, everyone loves mashed potatoes! (Unless you are really crazy.) I mean, the volcanoes to make, with the gravy drizzling all down the sides. Or the cranberry sauce to mix your potatoes with, and the vegetables you could stir up in there. There are so many ways to help make them delicious! Plus, according to The Daily Meal the recipe for mashed potatoes is the number one looked up thing for Thanksgiving. So many people love it, and no wonder. Some people think of it as a side dish but for a lot of people it's just a plate of scrumptious food. All in all, mashed potatoes are the best dish on Thanksgiving's large menu.

Thanksgiving is the best time of the year.  You got mouth-watering food.  My favorite food is the turkey. Just think about it.  It is the prize part of the meal for a reason.  According to the article, "The grate thanksgiving turkey debate." from The New York Times, I find turkey perfectly acceptable. Benjamin Franklin actually wanted to make it the National Bird."  This states that Benjamin Franklin wanted it to be the state bird just for the taste of the delicious bird. So, to sum up, EAT TURKEY IT IS THE BEST!
