                                 My Un-Resolution

My un-resolution is to stop drinking to much juice. There is this one juice called Acia berry juice. It is a dark purpley color and tastes so good while giving me loads of energy. Except for it has 24 grams of sugar and leaves a little purple mustache. Everyday I after school the first thing I do is go to the fridge to check if there is any. Then if there is any left I have two or three cups filled to the brim. I always have this drink before dance, when I am bored, and whenever I leave the house. My plan to stop doing this is to force myself to drink at least one cup of water before drinking my favorite juice.

The Post in Which I Admit I've been to Lunch Detention

Being late for first period caused me a lot of stress last year. In fact, I've been late at least six times.  I know six might not seem like that many tardy's, but did you know that it's enough to land you in lunch detention for three days?!  Well... it is!  Trust me, I was there a few weeks ago! This year my un-resolution is to stop being late for school.  The reason that I'm late all the time is because I never know what I'm going to wear or how I'm going to do my hair until the morning of.  To keep me from being late, I'm going to decide on my outfit and hair style the night before.  That way, I won't be wasting time thinking about all of my options.  I know this will take some dedication because usually at bed time, I'm so tired, all I want to do is go to sleep.  I know it will be worth it, because anything is worth not going to lunch detention again!

                             My New Years Un-Resolution

This year I am going to stop not caring about my grades. Usually I don't really care about my grades but now I am getting closer to high school and my grades count towards my collage credits, so now is a good time to practice trying to keep my grades up.  Some things I am going to change is to not procrastinate, when ever I do assignments late they end up not being as great as they could be, so doing them earlier and not the day before they are due will probably help me keep good grades.  Another thing that would help is going to my teachers before or after school to see what I can do to get my grade up if it is not very good in that class.  Finally studying for tests, not that I don't already, but doing more of it would definitely improve my grades.  That is my new years un-resolution.  Hopefully it will last until February! -Ellie Bethers

My Un-Resolution

Every year I tell myself to stop eating candy but I always do! Every time I see a piece of candy my stomach goes crazy and it tell me I need it, I do not know why I listen to it, because I always end up felling sick. This year I am trying to be better and to limit my candy a month. That way I won’t always fell sick when I eat too much candy at a friends house. ( Becasue my family never has store bought candy, we always bake it, and it tastes so much better!) This is how I am going to help with my Un- Resolution.  -Ellee Bolander

My New Year's Un-Resolution

Every year on the 31st of December, I always make a resolution I know that I will never keep. This year, though, I am actually hoping to stick with it. That's because my New Year's un-resolution is to stop procrastinating. I know that everyone is writing about the same thing, but it is something that I want to fix. I always put work off until the last second, somehow I usually get it done then, but it is still really important that I just get it done while I can. Hopefully this year, I will actually try to keep going with my un-resolution, instead of just deciding on something not that important and joking about it for the rest of the year.

My Un-Resolution!

Oh gosh, this last year I have started doing so many things I need to not do! But, there is one specific thing I absolutely need to stop.....eating cold tortillas right from the fridge. I just can't stop! Every time I grab something in the fridge I just stare at the tortillas in awe and usually I end up eating one! Ooooo they are so doughy and soft and cold and.....I am going to stop explaining them now or else I will go home and eat one. Anyways, To not do this I am going to hide these tortillas so when I open the fridge I don't see them. That is what I am going to stop doing this year.

Procrastination the Un-Resolution

One thing that I need to work on is, procrastination. I have a tough time with is procrastinating, so this year I am going to do my best to stop procrastinating!!! I kind of get annoyed at myself when I have to do things at the last minute. I have a tough time with procrastination mainly because sometimes I feel like the thing I am supposed to do isn't worth it. I get bad grades that I then have to fix and waste more time that i could have been doing something else. This year I am going to try to stop procrastinating and just get things done. I'm done with procrastinating and I am ready to get some work done.

My un-resolution is probably the worst in history. It is that my dogs stop being afraid of fireworks and yes, this is one of the only thing I could think of. As most resolutions or un-resolutions, we all are going to forget this and it's going to happen again, and again, and again. As you can tell I decided on the worst un-resolution possible that I have about no control over. -Jack Musser
Un-resolution, Anybody?
So, it's that time of year again... The time for New Year's resolutions! So easy to make, yet so hard to keep. I have many Un-resolutions, and they are linked. One of these is to STOP PROCRASTINATING!! I know many others have this resolution, but I can't help but mention it. All procrastinating does is create stress, and who has time for that? Even though it causes stress, I still find myself procrastinating, even on this blog post!! So that's one thing I'm going to stop doing. Another is that I'm going to study. I always get strait A's and never study. So I'm going to start studying, even though I already get A's. I'm going to start deserving my A's! Lastly, and this is kind of weird, but just go with me on this, I'm going to stop waiting to clean my room until the last minute as well. I focus better in clean environments, so it just makes sense that I would clean my room often, right? Nope. So this one kind of goes hand in hand with studying. Since my room will be cleaner, I can study better and more efficiently, therefore I won't have to procrastinate anymore. Hopefully I keep my Un-resolutions this year!

                                                 My Un-Resolution

My un-resolution this year is to NOT BITE MY FINGERNAILS!!! I have gotten into an extremely bad habit of biting my nails whenever I am deep in concentration, thinking about a confusing concept, or deciding what to do. One day I will be taking a test and after I am done, my fingernails will be gone! I even caught myself biting my fingernails while I was writing this blog post! Occasionally I tell myself that I need to stop biting them, but I always convince myself that I will eventually stop doing it. But over the years I have gotten wiser, and I have realized that I actually won't "eventually stop" if I do nothing. So please, if you see me biting my fingernails, make me aware that I am doing it.

My Un-Resolution

My un-resolution this year is to NOT PROCRASTINATE! I have not been doing the greatest about getting my work done early! I have often waited till the last possible day to get it done. This is always so stressful when I wait and I never do the work to the best of my ability. I think if I try better to get my work done it will be better and I will not get as stressed about it. One example of when I procrastinate is on flashcards. It usually comes down to the day right before gecko day when I am hurring to get it done. I should have been doing 15  minutes a day so I am learning the concept better and I have it done on time with stressing out about it. That is my un-resolution for this year!

My Un-Resulution
As the new year begins I start to ponder what stuff I should do or things I should start doing. But rarely do I think of something I need to not do. It took some thinking, but I found my un-resolution. I have continuously found myself goofing off or procrastinating. I used to be really good at getting stuff in and on time, and not completing it at 12:00 o 'clock at night the day before it is due. I am continuously saying it can be done tomorrow, until I realize. No! It can't be done tomorrow. It has to be done today! Sometimes I get to a point in the morning where I procrastinate getting up so much. I have two minutes to get ready, brush my teeth, and run to the bus stop. Because of this I don't have time to eat breakfast and I go to school feeling hungry and unable to complete the first half of my day to the best of my ability. Now I have started to try to kick this habit out of the window and complete my tasks a little bit early, so I am not scrabbling like an ant who didn't collect food all summer. This is not going be easy, but I know it can be done if I get into the swing of things. ( Except for waking up early. That is going to be nearly IMPOSSIBLE! )

- Phoenix Oliver
My Un Resolution

My un resolution is to stop missing the bus. Every morning when my alarm goes off, I think to myself that I will wake up in 30 seconds. Every morning I fall back to sleep before I reach thirty 30 seconds.  Another problem I have when my alarm goes off, is turning off my alarm before I even give waking up a second thought. My alarm is also very annoying. Sometimes I have a strong urge to throw it against the wall and break it. My solution to this problem is to put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so I have to get out of bed to go get it. Then I will put legos on the ground so I step on them on my way to the alarm clock. This will hurt really badly and wake me up for the day. My un resolution is to stop missing the bus.

                                                             My Un-resolution
I was excited when I read this months prompt! There are lots of things I want to stop doing, so it was a little hard to choose one. The one thing I really am working on this year is to be a better friend. One of the things I struggle with is I sometimes think or say not the nicest things about people. I mean I'm a nice person don't get me wrong, but sometimes I find myself saying something that isn't very nice and I regret saying it later. So this year I am really trying hard to be a good friend and not to say unkind things about people, I have already seen a big difference when I watch what I say.  This is my Un-resolution.

Stop Procrastinating

This isn't the most original un-resolution, but it's a good one for me. I know that whenever there's something I need to do but don't want to do it I start doing other stuff--that maybe isn't as important--just to put it off. Mathspace is a good example. I know I have to get my 400 points in for my grade but I really don't want to do it. I put it off and do other things that don't need to be turned in that early and don't have to be rushed. The Mathspace is done at the last minute and I do a pretty bad job at getting it all done that way. Also at my house when there's a job I have to do, or make my lunch, I always put it off for after other things. For example, I'll get home and flip my book open to start reading instead of immediately getting my lunch made, jobs done, homework caught up, and practicing. After that is the money jobs. I NEVER feel like getting them done so I start flipping through my book. But that just ends up getting me extra jobs! I need to stop procrastinating and just whatever it is I need to get done over with. It would make my life so much easier and less stressed. This is my un-resolution for the year.

                                                                   My UN-Resolution

I think that my Un-resolution would be to stop staying up all night reading. I have a tendency to stay up till 2:00 reading. I love reading, but I struggle to get up due to my obsession. Sometimes my mom tells me not to read during the day and read a little at night but instead, somehow I take it as "its okay if you just started your 300 paged book, you can finish it tonight" (My mom says I only hear what I want to hear). Thats another UN-resolution I want to work on. Listening to other people. When people talk to me, I sometimes zone out or something like that and usually miss out on important/fun things that I could or should be doing. In this case, headphones are my sworn energy because they really distract me from the world around me. Don't get me wrong, its okay to where them occasionally but when you see someone trying to communicate in person, don't be a jerk and turn around or turn the music up, pause your tunes and take out the earphones. I feel like these will be challenging for me but plan to pull through.                      -Brandon Gough

This like totally hard Un-Resolution

It actually took me a while to come up with a good un-resolution. Last night I was thinking about it and all I could come up with were resolutions. This was a problem, so I thought of all the things I need to stop. I came up with one that is like really bad. I just used it now. Saying like. I say it all the time and not on purpose! I need to start cutting it out and start using words like say or said. Here's an example. "Katie was like, "I need to get me a purple dotted hippopotamus. They're like the newest things." I like totally agree. We should get them together!" I would be relaying a conversation to my friend and I would say like a lot. This is how I should talk. "Katie said, "I need to get me a purple dotted hippopotamus. They're the newest things." I totally agree. We should get them together!"
(By the way, I have never said this to my friend). Obviously, like is a waste of words and something we should probably stop saying. This is one un-resolution that I am determined to do and I hope you will too. I will succeed! (Hopefully)!

My Un-Resolution By: Averi Cobb

My un-resolution is to stop reading when I need to do homework. I LOVE reading with all my heart and was very excited when I heard about the I Read Club. Sometimes I get so into a book I just can't make myself put it down, this is when I start to get behind in math-space, flashcards, and other homework. This year I need to find a balance between reading and homework. This is very important because it can affect my grade. Nothing has changed my grade yet, but I just cant take that risk. Reading will always be my favorite but this year I will put my homework first.

                             My Un-Resolution

My un-resolution is to stop procrastinating. This is a big one for me because I always do it. School work is really stressful when I procrastinate, because I have to finish it last minute. Also, my work is rushed so it is not good. For example, last year I put off a book report till the day before it was due. I was supper stressed and had to rush my work. That book report was terrible. Although, my teacher liked it. I got lucky. Another reason I need to stop procrastinating is because I will forget about the assignment. An example is when I was in 5th grade. My teacher assigned us an essay. After school I thought about doing it, but then I decided I would do some other time. I forgot about it. The day before it was due our teacher reminded us about the assignment. This time I wasn't so lucky. I hope this new year I can stop procrastinating. It will help me get better grades and I won't be stressed.

My UN- Resolution

                                        Drop That Cookie

                                                       By: Kamree Rowley

This year my UN-resolution is to eat healthier. Lately I feel that I have been eating a lot of junk food, and I want to start eating better. Instead of eating a cookie I am going to try to eat an apple. Or instead of eating a candy bar I am going to eat a salad. This is better for me. It is not only good for my body, it will also put me in a better mood. I hope I can accomplish this UN- resolution. I will have a better attitude and I will be healthier. I encourage others to try this too. This truly is a win-win. This is my UN-resolution.

                                                My UN-Resolution
                           By: Halle Westbrook

My UN-Resolution is to stop procrastinating! I always wait till they last day or week to do something. It is a REALLY bad habit. So this year I am going to try not to procrastinate. I am starting off the goal by doing the blog post before it is January 29, and not just remembering that the blog post is due the next day. (Which has happened before) So now I am going to do all my assignments before I realize that I have one more day until my assignment is due. ( It has happened) So this year my UN-resolution is to STOP procrastinating.

My Un- Resolution

Happy New year! Every year I try to make a new years resolution but, this year I am making an UN-resolution. This year for my UN-resolution I am going to try to not have any missing assignments or late work. This usually pops up every month or so and it ends up making me stressed out and makes my grade drop quite a bit. So to get ride of that stress I am going to try to stay on top of things. Instead of watching my favorite movie on Netflix, or say ill do it later, ill do it right then. So after everyday I am going to go overall my classes and see if we had any homework that day, so I don't fall behind and let my grade drop.  By doing this I think my teachers will be happier with me and think of me and a responsible student. All in all, I can't wait for 2018 and for my UN- resolution.

My Un- Resolution
By: Abbey Mathews
At the beginning of the school year, I bought a new planner. I was so excited to use it to plan out my week, write down homework assignments, and keep track of my busy schedule. I was very good about filling it out for about the first week and a half. After that, the planner wasn't touched. My goal this year is to fill out that planner and attend to everything in it, especially my homework schedule. I have specific days where I don't have to be at dance until a good three or four hours after school gets out. These are the days that I have time to do homework. However, these are also the only days that I have all to myself to relax and maybe even catch up on sleep. So when I have the homework vs. sleep battle in my head, homework often loses, resulting in lots of homework catch up the night before my assignment is due. Anyway, my un-resolution is to stop procrastinating and use my planner to help me accomplish this!
My Un-Resolution
Stop Sharing!
By: Jocelyn Olson

This year, for my Un-Resolution, I plan to stop sharing. Now, I’m sure it sounds selfish,
but as a twin, I share almost everything with my sister. Of course that sounds all fine and dandy
when I say I share with my twin, but there are so many fights that come with sharing. When I
wear her necklace, or she wears my jacket, let’s just say it doesn’t end well. We spend too
much time arguing over what’s hers and what’s mine. I want to be done with it. I want to
stop sharing with her and I want her to stop sharing with me. Now go ahead and disagree
with me, but I’m telling you, our lives would be so much easier if we didn’t share every little
thing we own. So, I plan to stop sharing with her, because when I share with my sister, it’s
not caring. It’s a punch in the face waiting to happen.

                                                                   My Un-Resolution

My un-resolution for the new year is to stop procrastinating. That is what I have been saying I was going to do for a while now. But now that it is the new year it has to be my resolution. I am very terrible at not procrastinating. I always save everything until the last minute and stress myself out. It is one of my worst traits. Part of my the Un-Resolution would be to finish all my projects and blog responses as early as possible. However, the chances of this actually happening for more than a couple months is very low but i'll try for as long as I  can. That is my Un-Resolution.

My Un resolution
I have always had goals come and go, achieve and exceed, But what am I missing? I have noticed that I stall waking up in the morning.  I want to stop this and get a regiment going.  I sit in my bed and think, ¨do I really need to go to school today,¨ but of course I go. But want can I do?  I have decided to get up as soon as my alarm goes off, I make my bed soon after. This gets me awake. So Hoorah for school one less missing the bus one at a time.

My Un-resolution
By: Courtney Derrick
Last year I found myself doing a lot of non-productive things. For example, when I should be outside playing i'm in on a phone, tablet or computer watching David Lopez vines and eating unhealthy foods like chips. So my resolution is to eat healthier and get more active. I'm going to try to set down that phone and get active. I am going to try to eat trail mix instead of chips. This un-resolution will make my body healthier and stronger. I encourage others do to the same because it won't just improve your health, it will put you in a better mood! All in all, my un resolution is to get off of the electronics and get active, and eating healthier foods than chips and other junk that is harmful to your body.

My Un-resolution

By Courtney Pack

2017 has come and gone and 2018 is here now. My un-resolution is to scare my brother less. Yes, I do know that is weird, but it's true. I scare my brother a lot and I think that I need to make it my un-resolution. I hide behind a door and when he is least expecting it, I jump out at him. His scream fills the entire house and echos through out the entire neighborhood. He will eventually get me back but not before I scare him again. It's so funny and you have to be there to truly get what I'm talking about. My parents always laugh with me as my brothers face gets redder and redder. I'll always remember the look on his face after it happens. It's shock with a little bit of surprised. My un-resolution is to scare my brother less and I think that is going to be hard.

Gabby's Un-resolution :)

Step Away From That Stove
By: Gabby Dutson

2017 was a good year. I accomplished my goal of filling a clear plastic drinking cup to the brim with pencil shavings, (weird I know, but bear with me), and I followed through with my plan to improve my cursive whilst using it on a daily basis! However, 2018 means new year, new me! So I have made the most difficult goal I will ever force myself to endure: Eat less stove-top pasta. Specifically chicken Ramen noodles and Kraft Mac N' Cheese. If it's a "Fend for yourself and make your own meal because Mom and Dad are busy" situation, I will resort to my two best friends, and make either Ramen or Mac. They're simple to make and scrumptious to devour, but I end up eating them 2-3 times a week! So no more will I eat that savory, soft Ramen or those small, cheesy morsels more than one time (each) a week. I can finally start to indulge in those leafy green vegetables everyone's talking about...
All in all, my un-resolution is to eat less stove pasta. Although I will miss my oodles of noodles dearly, we must part for the better.

January Blog Post...due January 30th

Welcome to 2018! This is the time of year when people make resolutions, or goals, of things they want to do to better themselves.

I want you to write an un-resolution! What is one thing that you can STOP doing during 2018? Write one, well-developed paragraph. You can make it earnest (I want to stop being mean to my little brother) or humorous (I want to stop peeing in the pool). Make it real, funny if you choose, most of all: have FUN writing!

Mrs. Robins's Example

Resolutions come and go...I might resolve to lose weight, be nicer, exercises daily, etc. Oftentimes, the resolution gets lost in the minutia of life. This year, however, will be different because I am going to make a un-resolution and firmly commit to--brace yourselves--NOT walking outside barefoot. First of all, I almost always am barefoot in my house and run outside without shoes. The problem is that I'm always stepping on rocks, stubbing my gigantic 2nd toe (it's scary), slipping on mud, etc. Did I mention I  have a dog? A dog who poops and I've had one too many close calls. I'm also highly allergic to said dog, and while I love her, the constant licking of my bare feet just flares allergies and is gross. It's time for me to take matters into my own hands, or feet, in this instance and pony up by slapping on sandals and not going barefoot anymore. There's no support group for my problem, so I will bravely face this challenge alone...one covered foot at a time!

                                                                   Christmas Trains

Whenever the Christmas season rolls around my family and I get super exited. We get way exited because that means we get to go to grandma's house to decorate her house and make Christmas Trains. What is a Christmas Train? Well they are an assortment of different candy, chocolate, and other sugary things glued together with frosting in the shape of a train. When we first get to grandma's house we wait for our cousins and other family to arrive then we run downstairs and get all the Christmas decorations out and bring them all upstairs.  We start to fill my grandmas house with Christmas spirit as my grandma sits around in her comfy chair and plays Free Cell or Sudoku on her Tablet. When we finish decorating her tree and house we get out all the sugary sweets such as: 3 Musketeers, M&M's, Dumb Dumbs suckers, Hershey Kisses, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Licorice. We lay down the tracks for the train with licorice and frosting. We then make the train cars and decorate them with candy. Sometimes my brothers and sisters decorate their trains with as much candy as possible to eat later. After we are done we set the christmas trains out to dry, and play card games, and board games for an hour or two with my family. At about 10:00 o'clock or later we all mosey out to our car and drive home. Whenever this christmas tradition occurs after it is over my family and I can't wait for it to come around next year.
