                                                                     St. Patrick's Day!!! -Ellie Bethers
Why do we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day?  Saint Patrick's Day is a international holiday to celebrate Irish culture.  It is usually celebrated on or around March 17.  It particularly remembers St. Patrick, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.  According to the site, History of Saint Patrick's Day, it states that St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland.  He was known for converting Ireland to the religion of Christianity.  Surprisingly enough, St. Patrick was not actually Irish.  Saint Patrick died on March 17, which is why we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day on that particular day.  Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration to remember St. Patrick and all that he did for their country.  Saint Patrick's Day has been called many different names, such as Feast of Saint Patrick and The day of the Festival of Patrick.  Even though it has many different names and purposes, all in all, you want to be wearing green on Saint Patrick's Day!
