Everybody said the old Bosworth mansion was haunted, I thought they were crazy as the sun´s light began to dwindle as I stepped inside. The first noises I heard was the creaking of the floor boards as I stepped on them. The inside of the mansion looked like it was in ruins, some of the walls were cracked, some of the furniture was gone and crumbled. The walls were just wood, as the paint had been scraped off, the floor had no rugs, nothing.
As I entered the kitchen a squeaking sound came from upstairs, the hallways were winding and the only light that was visible was the moon light and my lantern. I looked down at the floor, seeing it was just black and white tiles in the kitchen. I turned around and went upstairs, the stair case sounded like it would break at any moment. When I got to the top I turned to see a hallway, small, glowing red eyes were staring right at me, unblinking.
I looked around, than approached. Something grabbed me by the throat and lifted me up off the floor, the red eyes still staring, my lantern shut off and broke. I felt something painful hit my head, and noticed it had hit me with something, I fell to the floor, screaming. The eyes had turned to a beautiful white, than it walked around, not making a sound besides the creaking of floor boards. Everything started to turn black, and I passed out.
I woke up, was it morning? Or was it still midnight? I could see nothing. I tried to navigate the Bosworth mansion, I ran into multiple walls. I than realized I was not in the mansion, there was no squeaking floors, no wood walls or floors. I was in some concrete bunker, I tried to find the way out, I found the stairs after about a hour of navigating. I climbed them easily, when I reached the top I reached what looked like a run down insane asylum, the walls and floors were covered in vines and grass. The sunlight shone through the window, I seemed to be on the first floor. I went to the door and opened it, I found my truck, a shiny turquoise truck, it was large too. The keys seemed to be in the ignition already. I decided to drive home and never talk or see the Bosworth mansion again. Oh I hope that I would never go into it again, and if I did... I would surely die.

ReplyDeleteI updated it so there isn't a cliff hanger... Don't know if it would technically be a epilogue but whatever. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNice job! That was a really good story, I loved how you used description on everything. Though you could have explained the concrete bunker a little more. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteOh Jack! This was fantastic! You did a really good job of building suspense in the story with your word choices and mood. I feel like there is so much more to the story that I want to know about. Well done!
